Thank you for your interest in booking a K-12 Visit. Please review the following program information and policies before submitting a program request.
Tour Dates: All K-12 Programs will be offered Monday through Friday. In-person Guided Visits are available from 10:15 AM to 2:25 PM. Requests for lessons outside these hours will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Policies:
- We require requests for Guided Visits be made four weeks in advance of your preferred date. The last day to submit a request will be May 17, 2025.
- Classroom teachers must have one adult chaperone per 20 students for in-person Guided Visits.
- Please note, face coverings are recommended during Education programs at the Whitney.
Group Size: For In-Person Guided Visits, we can accommodate up to 60 students on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and up to 80 students on Tuesdays. We can welcome up to 30 students for Guided Visits + Studio. School groups that exceed capacity will be required to schedule multiple timeslots.

Accessibility Notice:
Edges of Ailey will have modified gallery experiences for K-12 groups. Guided Visits for 9-12 grades will have the option to self-explore for a portion of their tour. Guided Visits for K-8 grades will have modified gallery experiences designed for the needs of each class. As the exhibition is filled with high volumes of sound, primarily from a surround video which also contains flashing and strobing effects, discussion and inquiry-based activities are not conducive within the space. Please see below for more information about accessibility in Edges of Ailey.
- The exhibition is enveloped by a surround video created by Josh Begley and Kya Lou with Adrienne Edwards. This video contains flashing and strobing effects that should be avoided by people who have photosensitive epilepsy or who may be susceptible to seizures.
- The entire exhibition is filled with high volumes of sound, primarily from the surround video.
- The exhibition contains very low lighting and walls and pedestals are painted a deep red.
